With a background rooted in professional dog handling, pet care, and live events long before wedding pet chaperoning became widely established, Hounds & Heritage brings a depth of experience that allows every wedding to be approached with clarity, foresight, and calm assurance.
This service has been shaped by years of working with pets in real-world settings where timing matters, pressure is high, and conditions are constantly changing.
Each pets involvement is thoughtfully curated rather than maximised. Decisions are made with welfare at the centre (often before challenges ever arise) ensuring pets are comfortable, settled, and advocated for throughout the day, rather than simply present for appearances.
From early planning conversations to the final handover, couples are supported with steady oversight and considered coordination, allowing them to remain fully present on their wedding day, confident that their pet is being cared for with professionalism, sensitivity, and quiet authority.

Pets walk through every chapter of our lives, and I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside them.
From guiding wide-eyed puppies through their first big adventure to standing beside families as they celebrate with a beloved companion fighting illness - sometimes knowing it may be their last celebration together.
I’ve witnessed the joy, the love, and the heartbreak, and I understand just how profound this role is.
Being trusted to care for them, through every milestone and every moment, is something I never take lightly.
A Note from The Founder
ounds & Heritage was founded in 2021 and has grown through each couple, dog, and wedding entrusted to its care.
Today, that experience spans more than 400 pet-inclusive weddings, each contributing to the considered, welfare-led approach the service is known for.
The service has been shaped by real experiences and continues to grow while keeping its focus on what matters: offering couples peace of mind and ensuring their pets are part of the moments that matter most.

very wedding is more than a ceremony. It is a day shaped by moments, people, and the relationships that matter most.
From quiet mornings to busy receptions, dogs experience weddings very differently to their humans. Their presence brings meaning, but it also requires thought, planning, and an understanding of what helps them feel safe, settled, and included.
That is why every booking is completely bespoke, shaped around each dog’s personality, routine, and comfort levels, as well as the flow of the wedding itself. From early planning and familiarisation through to calm transitions on the day, care is approached with empathy, foresight, and attention to detail.
Rooted in Care: Services designed with intention, trust, and understanding.
Jemma was honest from the start about the realities of including a young dog in a busy wedding day, and her advice was invaluable. We worked together to come up with a plan that would work best for Lana, deciding that she’d come to join us later in the evening for some quieter moments and photos. It was the perfect decision – calm, low pressure, and still so special.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Heritage Hounds to anyone wanting their dog to be part of their big day. Jemma treats each dog as if they were her own and clearly has a genuine passion for what she does. Most importantly, she always puts the dog’s needs first – which is exactly what we wanted.

The Signature Experience was created to bring this approach to life. It combines practical experience, professional handling, and steady support, allowing couples to relax and enjoy their day knowing their dog is exactly where they need to be.
No two weddings are ever the same, and neither are the dogs who take part in them. Care is always shaped around what is right, not what looks good on paper.
